Contract (2026) — Sophia Giovannitti

From May 5–10, 2026, Sophia Giovannitti presents a new study of her ongoing piece Contract (2022–) at MIT List Visual Arts Center. The artist will occupy the List Center's Bakalar Gallery for six days, working and writing within it. The gallery is closed to the public, save for those who pay a non-refundable deposit of $1,136.63 to enter and begin an unpublished choreography with her. Here is what happens: the artist will pursue a legal transfer of risk and an affective experience of "something else."

Within two business days of submission, the artist will contact you with available appointments. You will communicate with her about nothing else but scheduling. After an appointment is mutually confirmed, the artist will instruct you to pay in full or to take a twenty percent discount. You will return to this website to complete payment within one business day. When the day of your appointment comes you will arrive on time and begin.
